Important Notice — In-Person Interpreting Minimums and Rates

For on-site interpreting services at USCIS asylum and immigration appointments, Silver Bay Translations applies different minimums based on location and expected wait times.

At busier USCIS locations with higher processing volume and longer wait times, a full-day rate may apply.

At smaller or less busy USCIS locations with shorter wait times, a minimum booking of four (4) hours may apply.

For all other appointments — including schools, medical visits, business meetings, and universities — services are typically billed at a two (2) or three (3) hour minimum, depending on location and assignment length.

Rates are confirmed in advance based on:

• Appointment location

• Expected wait and processing times

• Language required

• Type of interpreting (simultaneous or consecutive)

This policy ensures reliable scheduling, appropriate allocation of interpreter time, and consistent professional service.
